Potential Income: 0.6875% a month (a total of 8.25% a year), paid if the Nikkei 225 closes at or above 65% of its Start Level on an Income Date.

Kickout feature: The Plan will mature early (kickout) if the Nikkei 225 closes at or above 100% of its Start Level on an Early Maturity Date.

Income Dates: Every month, from the 25 December 2026 to the 25 November 2032, inclusive

Early Maturity Dates: 27 November 2028, 26 November 2029, 25 November 2030, 25 November 2031

Repayment of your Amount Invested:  You will be repaid your Amount Invested in full if the Plan kicks out.
You will make a loss if, on the Final Maturity Date, the Nikkei 225 closes below 65% of its Start Level.

Issuer: Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (‘CIBC’). If the Issuer becomes insolvent, you could lose a significant proportion of your Amount Invested and any return due, regardless of how the Nikkei 225 performs.

Tax treatment: You should expect to pay income tax on the return from your investment.

This Plan is aimed at investors who are looking for a potential income linked to the performance of Japanese equity markets over a six-year period, but who are comfortable that the investment may mature early. They should be prepared to put both the income and their Amount Invested at risk. Please see page 18 of the Brochure (‘Who is the Plan appropriate for?’) for more information.

What Are The Risks Of The Plan?

As with all forms of investment there are risks involved. These plans do not guarantee to repay the money invested. The potential returns of the plans and repayment of the money invested are dependent the level of the underlying asset(s) or index / indices to which the return is linked and also on the financial stability of the Issuer and Counterparty.

Past performance is not a guide to future performance and may not be repeated.  Investment involves risk. The performance data does not take account of the commissions and costs incurred on the issue and redemption of shares. The value of investments and the income from them may go down as well as up and investors may not get back any of the amount originally invested.  Because of this, an investor is not certain to make a profit on an investment and may lose money.  Exchange rate changes may cause the value of overseas investments to rise or fall.

The promotion of the plans does not constitute ‘advice’ to invest. Advice is always specific to an individual investor’s circumstances and needs, following the process of ‘know your customer’, with the aim of ensuring that any product is suitable for an investor.

As always, the recommendation and common-sense approach is to consider product solutions as a portfolio, never over-exposing oneself to a point of financial pain and suffering liquidity or counterparty over exposure.
